Service-Learning Students used
what they learned in their classes in our community, and
they demonstrated the invaluable "campus-community
connection" between MU and the citizens of Columbia.
Below are a few of the comments we received on students'
end-of-semester evaluations.
Student's service activity and Agency's evaluation of student:
Rainbow House--Serve as volunteer coordinator,
interviewing potential volunteers and providing leadership
for current volunteers.
"Brooke has been a blessing for Rainbow
House. She is hard working, dependable, professional, also
completes tasks above and beyond what is expected."

with children in poetry-related activities.
"John has edited a poetry book for
our academy and has worked with our kids tutoring. He's
been wonderful."

and shelter work.
"Beth was a tremendous help, and
was always looking for more to do. I greatly enjoyed working
with her."
Hickman High School Reading/Writing Workshop--Work
one-on-one with students on editing and revising original
poetry.
"[David was] awesome! Creative ideas

performs well at every stage of the game. [She] is fantastic.
She's an asset to the Red Cross and she'll be an asset to
whatever company she chooses to work for."
