Internship, Seminar, Service-Learning Courses

(6 credit hours)

These courses are designed to promote a lifetime commitment to public service and teach essential leadership skills through experience.

The Civic Leaders Internship Program (CLIP)

State government internships that offer a new perspective on how to become a more informed and engaged citizen. CLIP interns spend 8-35 hours per week during the winter semester working for state legislators or agencies.

Community Leadership Seminar

Students will have the opportunity to identify an unmet need or issue in the not-for-profit or public policy sector, develop a proposal and implement a service or public policy program in the community, in conjunction with an agency, school, or similar organization. Some seed funding is available to support projects.

Check the Schedule of Courses on-line for a current list of service-learning courses: http://myzou.missouri.edu. (The course cannot be a course that is required for the student’s academic major).
